Frankenweenie:My Thoughts

Just got back after a preview screening of the new Tim Burton film "Frankenweenie",and its a wonderful film, the premise is similar to his 1984 short film of the same name,When Victor Frankenstein loses his cherished pet dog Sparky rather than be without it he reanimates it by lightening with mayhem ensuing.

The film is stop motion like the Burton produced films "The Nightmare before Christmas" and "James and the Giant Peach" and the co-directed film "Corpse Bride" and is a very stylised affair, filmed in Black and White and 3D in its entirety it pays homage to both the Mary Shelley novel and also back to the Frankenstein films of the 30's,dark in tone as Tim Burton films tend to be overall it is a well made film that will keep kids entertained along with the adults, you can tell that this is a labour of love for Burton and is a return to form after the average Dark Shadows

Look out for the Cameo of Christopher Lee in his most recognisable role

Rating ****/5

Frankenweenie is released Nationwide on the 17th of October
